MORGANTON, NC -- Kaitlyn Robinson was recently named Business Manager of Morganton-based, 35-year-old Table Rock Printers, a provider of extensive print solutions to businesses across the Unifour.

 A Summa Cum Laude graduate of Appalachian State University with a Bachelor in Fine Arts degree specializing in graphic design and business management, Kaitlyn oversees client communication and fulfillment, print layout and graphic design, production management and delivery, staff supervision, and other administrative and operational duties. 

While an undergraduate at ASU, Kaitlyn worked in the university’s Print Lab, rising from an assistant aiding customers to the manager of the print shop responsible for employees, inventory controls, and development of workflows and process procedures.

Most recently Kaitlyn worked in a Lenoir-area print business where she was engaged in front-line customer service, workflow management, and the designing and production of print materials, with emphasis on typography, image and color resolutions, production, and fulfillment of print materials for customers.

“I enjoy drawing, printmaking, book design, and binding and weaving,” Kaitlyn said. “Although I am creative, I am also an obsessive organizer. I am excited about working with current and future customers of Table Rock Printers.”

ABOUT TABLE ROCK PRINTERS: Table Rock Printers was founded by Ron Perry in 1986, who, with a vision to bring an extensive selection of quality print products combined with excellent service to customers throughout western North Carolina.

Jack Perry, Ron’s son, began working part-time with Table Rock Printers while in college, became president in 2018, and operated the business until his death in January 2021. VanNoppen Marketing, LLC acquired the business on March 1, 2021.

While serving in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War, Ron Perry learned craftsmanship that would stay true to him for many years to come.  After working for numerous companies in the Southeast, Ron had the vision to bring his desire for quality printing combined with excellent service to create satisfied customers.  He founded Table Rock Printers in his basement in 1986. 

 His business grew. Within a year he moved his business to downtown Morganton.  With this move and the additional space, he was able to expand his products and services.

Jack Perry, Ron’s son, began working part-time with Table Rock Printers while in college.  Jack did it all. He was janitor, pressman, finisher and binder, graphic designer, customer rep, and, eventually, president. Jack became full owner in 2018 and continued the heritage of hard work, customer dedication, quality results and community engagement.

Jay Perry, Ron’s youngest son has also worked at Table Rock Printers.  After graduating from Appalachian State in 1996, Jay worked in Pre Press for 12 years before taking a position as at McDowell Tech Community College.  He is currently the Instructor and Advisor of the Advertising and Graphic Design Program.  Jay continues to stay close with the business and collaborates on projects from time to time.

In January 2021 Jack unexpectedly pass away. His family sold Table Rock Printers to Morganton-based VanNoppen Marketing on March 1, 2021.

In Memory of…

Jack Ray Perry, 51, of Morganton, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021. Born on September 4, 1969, he was the son of Ronnie and Janie Perry. Jack loved to spend time with his family, watching his boys play football and basketball, coaching, and going on long drives to the mountains with Dawn, just to waste some time and spend time together. He loved his job and enjoyed his customers. Jack was always finding someone to talk to and loved to get together with his coaching buddies. He took care of his mom and dad and was always checking on them. Jack loved his brother and all his nieces and nephews! He would do anything for them or anyone he met. Jack loved hard and he was loved. He will be missed. We love you so much!

In addition to his parents, Jack is survived by his wife of 25 years, Dawn Smith Perry; sons, Avery, Grant, and Jake Perry; brother, Jay Perry and wife, Lee Ann; and many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Jack was preceded in death by an infant brother, Kenneth Brian Perry; paternal grandparents, Forrest and Margaret Perry; maternal grandparents, Willis and Emogene Greene.

The funeral for Jack will be held 11am today, Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at the Oak Hill Elementary Football Field.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Patton Basketball Athletics, Freedom Football Athletics or Oak Hill Athletics.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
